Brian Tobin AM

Brian Tobin AM has dedicated over 40 years of his life to tennis administration. He was the President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) from 1991 to 1999. Under his leadership, the ITF and its principal activities, including the worldwide operation of the Davis Cup, Fed Cup, and Olympic tennis, were greatly enhanced and developed. His business foresight and progressive thinking prepared the ITF to carry out its mission as a governing body, ensuring future growth of the organisation.

Prior to that Brian was the President of Tennis Australia and presided over the Australian Open’s move from Kooyong to Melbourne Park. He was ranked in the top 10 Australian Tennis Players from 1956 to 1962.

For his huge contribution to Australian Sports, Brian Tobin was made a member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1986 and in 1999 received the Olympic Order from the IOC. In 2003 Tobin was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island and in 2004 was inducted into the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame.

John Laidlaw helped build the family-owned Hard Yakka business into an iconic Australian brand and one of the biggest of its type in the country.

He was Chairman and Chief Executive of the Yakka Group for nearly 25 years before successfully selling the business to Pacific Brands.

He was on the Committee of the Australian Confederation of Australian Manufacturers for 20 years, serving as Chairman for 8 of those years.A dedicated supporter of the Collingwood Football Club, John is also a Patron of the Club. He supports numerous charities around Australia.

Alan Tobin

A true Melbournian, Alan has spent nearly four decades in Melbourne working in senior management roles in Media, Communications and Consulting organisations. Some of the major roles that he held include Media Director at McCann-Erickson, Senior Vice President at Isis Communications and Head of Events for Nelson Mandela’s Australian visit.

Alan is well versed in financial modelling, deal structuring and negotiations.

He is extremely well connected with Australian Media, large Corporates and Sporting Bodies.

Kumar Vaidyanathan

Kumar was born and raised in India. He has lived and travelled the length & breadth of the country and worked with some of India’s largest Communication companies holding Board and Senior Management positions. He launched India’s first Retail Marketing Company. He is fluent in several Indian languages.

After India, Kumar worked in the UK for a global Communications Company and his remit covered all of Western Europe developing strategies for major brands, M&A, business development and training.

He migrated to Australia in 1999 and was Partner at a CRM Strategy firm before taking up consulting roles. Until recently he was Senior Partner for a UK based consulting firm.

Kumar has maintained close ties to the Indian business community and travels frequently to India on work.

Nairy Baghdikian

Dr Angus Henderson

Angus has held executive roles in the private and public sectors. He has fostered international business partnerships for projects spanning health & medical technologies, energy technologies and astronomy infrastructure.

He initiated and led a major global knowledge partnership initiative between industry, academia and government to support development of the carbon capture and storage industry.

Until recently, Angus was senior policy advisor to both Federal and State Governments.
